Connectivity
[noun] the ability to connect with something, especially to communicate with another machine, for example a computer or computer system.

The ability to connect is something we now take for granted.  We connect with other systems and printers daily.  We connect to servers and applications in the office, and in most cases the Internet as well.  We connect to share, to plagiarise, to learn and to teach.  Connectivity is the lifeblood of modern business, without connectivity, most of us would be, at least, ineffectual at worst, redundant.

The increasing availability of ADSL has fuelled the frequency we work from home, and with it has come the need for ensuring the connection is fast, constant and secure.  The VPN (Virtual Private Network), which uses the internet as a method of transport between locations, has further provided that level of security, ensuring only those authenticated users can access the company LAN.

This often requires the connection to be between specific locations or devices (home PC and Office).  However, the introduction of the SSL VPN (Secure Socket Layer VPN) has extended the potential for connectivity beyond these boundaries.  SSL VPN technology allows users to access the corporate network to collect mail or run remote applications, from any web browser, anywhere in the world, using the Internet as the transport mechanism.  The SSL leaves no footprint behind it to compromise security, it can force additional restrictions to be met before connectivity is permitted, can force multi level authentication, and more.

The ever improving cover of the 3G network, and the lowering of associated Data Tariffs, has introduced increased opportunities to connect, using VPN or SSL VPN technology.  The concept of a truly connected world is here.  There are very few places in the UK where you can truly escape.  The world has not shrunk, it’s our net that’s got bigger.

Whether you need fixed point connections, or to provide access to those users constantly on the move, we have secure and robust solutions to meet your needs.
